About
WaLaw Realty is owned and operated by attorneys Marc Holmes (who is the licensed broker) and Craig Blackmon (who is a licensed real estate agent). Marc and Craig also own and operate the Blackmon Holmes PLLC. From its beginning, the law firm was focused on helping people buy or sell homes without incurring the costs of a real estate agent. As Marc and Craig handled more and more of these transactions, they realized the many benefits to their clients if they were able to offer real estate brokerage services as well. WaLaw Realty was born soon after.
When you hire WaLaw Realty, you also hire Blackmon Holmes PLLC. Thus, Marc and Craig are able to represent you as your lawyers, not just as your agents. Representation by a lawyer differs significantly from representation by a real estate agent. See the How We’re Different page for an explanation.
In addition, WaLaw Realty is paid in a different way. Unlike an agent, WaLaw Realty (like Blackmon Holmes PLLC) charges a flat fee directly to its clients for the services it provides. This allows WaLaw Realty to charge significantly less than a typical real estate agent. While you can expect to pay your agent up to 3% of the sale price, WaLaw Realty and Blackmon Holmes PLLC charge a combined flat fee of $3,995, of which $500 is paid up front and the balance at closing (or six months, whichever occurs first). See Fees for more information.
WaLaw Realty is not for everyone. Our services are geared towards people who want to do some of the work otherwise done by a “full service” agent in exchange for saving thousands of dollars. Our services are also geared towards people who appreciate the superior representation provided by a lawyer (in a transaction worth hundreds of thousands of dollars). On the other hand, if you want somebody else to do everything and you’re willing to pay for it, and if you’re satisfied with the limited (and potentially compromised) representation provided by an agent, then WaLaw Realty is probably not a good fit for you.
We hope to hear from you.
